A Little About Me
I was inspired to study Chinese Medicine during a trip to a Health and Gong Fu school in China. On returning to New Zealand I followed my passion by studying Chinese Medicine for four years, specialising in both acupuncture and Tuina (Chinese Medical Massage). Over the years I have also practiced Chinese martial arts and movement therapy for health, including Tai Qi and Qi Gong practices. I really enjoy helping people improve their health with the ancient techniques of acupuncture, tuina, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and gentle movement techniques or joint mobilisation. I tailor my treatment plans to each individual person and their specific needs.
My experience includes working with patients to help treat and manage pain, injuries and other musculoskeletal conditions. I'm also passionate about treating a number of women’s health conditions such as menstrual issues or menopause, and offering fertility support. I have specialised experience working with pregnant women with complaints such as back pain and morning sickness, or providing pre-birth treatment. My training included experience at Hutt Hospital Acupuncture Clinic for pregnant women. I also have a genuine passion for treating mental, emotional and spiritual health concerns. Examples include stress management, anxiety, insomnia and depression. I am a member of the AMH (acupuncture for mental health) clinical interest group. This is a group of qualified, registered practitioners who hold a special interest in mental health. They publicly promote and advocate the use of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine as a valid, safe and effective treatment modality for mental health care.
My earlier background includes media arts, teaching, charity work, and emergency call taking for the ambulance service. These unique experiences enable me to bring compassion and insight to my treatments in order to support patient’s holistically. I aim to deliver my best possible explanation, treatment, and supportive advice so patients can gain awareness of ways to live in balance and experience good health.
"Natalie is an incredibly intuitive Massage Therapist. Natalie notices where I'm tight every time and tailors her treatment to suit what I need. I always feel so much more relaxed and supple after every visit. She has a calm and gentle manner and puts you at ease straight away. She listens well and communicates well. I would highly recommend Natalie to anyone".
